Cellular/systemic inflammation is a sinister medical condition that sets you up for a set of diseases that has dire consequences.  If you have had an injury, operation, flu or infection, you know what inflammation is.  The symptoms ususally are pain, fever, redness, swelling and settles when your immune system or antibiotics/pain killers have done their job.  However, sometimes, this acute type inflammation turns inward without you knowing about it.

EPA and DHA, essential long chain fatty acids (only present in oily fish), are the major components of anti-inflammatory hormones, and if you lack sufficient amounts of these molecules at celluar level, your body cannot produce anti-inflammatory hormones leading to constant  low grade inflammation.
